The crazy idea to home school popped into my head over Christmas break 2008. There really didn't seem a good enough reason to do such a drastic, thing, and I kept trying to think of something "valid" when I finally realized that I simply wanted to be with the kids. I miss them when they're gone. Of course I like the quiet, but not more than I like them home. And besides, who says homeschooling is such a drastic thing to do? So here we are. The girls are finishing out this school year, and staying home after that year, for just one year. (That's the deal I made with the girls to get them to agree to leave the school they love) I have no idea how this is all gong to go down, but I have a feeling we'll enjoy it.
PS The girls chose they're own pseudonyms for this blog. We know you won't mind.
Whiskers and Zarkon
Ok, we'll use our real names. We are really not as boring as the picture may suggest.
Meet Mosquito
Our oldest adventurer, Mosquito will turn 9 in October. She is leaving 3rd grade. Super bright, super friendly, super curious. We call her a schemer because she is continually thinking of things to set up, organize, and design.
Super Sally
Quiet and patient, there is much more to this seven year old than usually erupts to the surface. Sally loves music and and is good at math. She will practice something that she finds worthwhile until she is good at it.
Dazzling Diamond
Diamond is five and a half. She takes life very seriously and tries to do things the "right" way. She's very reasonable and passionate at the same time, and will continue to investigate an issue until she gets at the bottom of it.
The Belle of the ball
Belle is three and can only be described in contradictions. She was our easiest and most difficult baby. She is a lamb and a dragon all at once. Belle craves comfort and is so oriented to her senses. She needs to smell mommy or daddy when she is upset and before she goes to bed.
Sunny Sunny
Sunny will be two in August. Bright, smiley, chubby, dimpley baby.
